I am delighted to have this photograph included in the group exhibition Women in Photography at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography in Glasgow, Scotland. The exhibition opens Friday, March 3rd and there will be an opening reception 6pm – 8pm at the gallery located at 57 Glassford St, Glasgow, Scotland. The exhibition runs through March 31, 2023

Very happy to have a photograph selected for the new public art group exhibition featuring artists from around the globe – “The Surprising Thing About Gratitude” sponsored by Canco Park Conservancy, Jersey City Public Library, and Walk-Bye.

There will be an art opening Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 12-2pm ET at Canco Park located at 47 Dey Street, Jersey City, NJ in the Marion Arts District. Along with the opening there will be a Wildlife Feast where people will be encouraged to bring dried nuts, oranges, and apples to help support local birds over winter, and a tree decoration workshop with crafting materials to also help local birds over winter. The exhibition will remain up in the park for several months.


I am pleased to announce that a photograph of mine is included in Shutter Hub’s YEARBOOK 2022 exhibition which features images from photographers from across the globe. (My image is in row 14 on right) The images are sequenced alphabetically by surname. YEARBOOK showcases the work from over 300 photographers from across the globe.

The exhibition launches Thursday July 21, 2022.

Pleased to announce that I have 7 images included in the National Council on Aging’s - NCOA Age + Action 2022 Photography exhibition. (My images ¾ down page) The theme of the exhibition is series is Caregiving-Aging Well for All. NCOA’s vision is to “foster a dialogue to encourage everyone to care for those who once cared for us, as we believe caregiving for older adults is one of the highest honors”

Happy to have a photograph of mine included in F-Stop Magazine’s June-July issue Open Theme 2022 Group Exhibition. (My image in 4th row on left) The final images were selected from over 3000 submissions. F-Stop is a fine art photography magazine featuring contemporary photography from established and emerging photographers from around the world.

I am proud to have a photograph selected (my image on page #15 ) for the UMass Amherst Bard College Clemente Course for the Humanities class publication “From the Clemente Classroom: 100-Word Stories on Breathing While Black.” This came from an assignment in fall of 2021 Critical Thinking and Writing Class where students were to write a 100-word story in response to the “Breathing While Black” exhibition at the UMass Amherst Augusta Savage Gallery.

A few images from my photographic series examining the US landscape are featured in the international art magazine Contemporary Identities ISSUE # 11. (page 10) Contemporary Identities is a quarterly magazine covering art from around the world that showcases and promotes experimental and contemporary art through short reviews from international scholars, art writers, and art critics.

Alexandra Buxbaum is a photographer whose work has focused on documenting the human experience of various people and cultures living in disparate urban environments around the world.

She has worked for major media outlets, and her work has appeared in a myriad of publications both nationally and internationally, most recently in the Daily Beast, People Magazine, Time Inc Books, ABC World News, Readers Digest, Rolling Stone Magazine, the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Mother Jones, The Guardian, Yahoo! News, Current Affairs, The New Yorker, The Chicago Tribune, CNN Business, The Financial Tines, and Variety.

Alexandra has exhibited in over 75 solo and group exhibitions; including the Figge Museum of Art (Davenport, IA) and the US Embassy to Thailand 180th Anniversary Exhibition which was also made into a book titled Everyday Life, the Photo Independent 2017 and Fathom Gallery (Los Angeles, Ca,) Jackson Junge Gallery (Chicago, IL) most recently The Shemer Art Center & Museum (Phoenix, AZ) Cottonwood Center for the Arts (Colorado,) Museum of Art Fort Collins (Colorado,) the Art Center Highland Park (IL,) The Elisabet Ney Museum (Austin, TX, ) Santa Paula Art Museum (Santa Paula, CA,) and The North Dakota Museum of Art.

Alexandra was an invited artist by the U.S. Department of State to participate in the Art in Embassies Program for a Cultural Exchange, Embassy in the Embassy in Bujumbura to engage local artists in collaborative projects, classes, and cross-cultural exchange of ideas in 2022.
