Blue Stratus
PHX Sky Train 44th Street Station Ground Floor Ceiling. Inspired by the vivid blue of the Arizona sky and the ancient history and role of water in shaping the desert, this 150 x 40' ceiling is made of 6,610 uniquely shaped aluminum reflector panels that are painted six different colors of blue. Lit with LED lights from above, the panels move in the breeze to create a slowly changing display of color. Commissioned by the Phoenix Public Art Program.
