Shorty Greene: Tender Passage
Tender Passage is Shorty Greene’s second solo exhibition at Eye Lounge opens Feb 17th. In this self-curated exhibition, the artist shares a collection of mixed-media collages. Using the sun as a camera proxy to assist in their creative practice. The works bear a dynamic blue hue which is a distinctive feature of a Cyanotype. Greene stated it was important to encapsulate the personification of time. These brilliant blue elements are found throughout Greene’s collages.
Shorty Greene is a Phoenix artist whose photographic, mixed-media and printmaking works often investigates identity and intimacy narrated through the refraction of family albums and text. Her work is informed by her black matriarch upbringing in the Southwest and influenced across private experiences.

Artist Statement:
Shorty Greene is a cis-gendered, able-bodied Black-Latina artist currently based in Phoenix, AZ. She received her Masters of Fine Arts in Art Photography from Syracuse University and a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute. She’s a passionate Mother, Facilitator and Arts Educator and 2017 Artist-in-Resident at The Studios at MASS MoCA.
