Katie is always making new work, whether it be abstract floral paintings or client illustrations.
ABOUT
Katie Vernon is an artist and illustrator living in Flagstaff, Arizona. Her art is heavily influenced by her previous careers as a florist and landscaper. She uses flowers and natural forms as an entry point to work through larger ideas. The additive and subtractive processes at play as she paints, cuts, and/or collages allow her to work intuitively as she balances detail/abstraction and saturation/neutrality. This method results in pieces with a rich textural component to draw in the viewer.
As an illustrator, Katie has had the pleasure of working with IKEA, Anthropologie, the Washington Post, Porsche, and many other great clients. Her art can be seen in books, greeting cards, magazines, newspapers, home decor, grocery stores, and even an arboretum. Some of her favorite things include thrifting, seltzer water, and two different species of animals becoming friends.
