“Art.ology: Story Vessels” juxtaposes questions of resiliency and decay in the midst of the climate crisis. The project documents a pandemic induced creative practice through paintings, drawings, video and stills resulting in an online exhibition and physical catalogue.


Michael Schwartz is a working visual artist. After graduation from the Tyler School of Art in 1988 he was recruited by painter Robert Colescott to study at the University of Arizona Art Department. He earned his MFA in 1991. His artworks can be found in collections world-wide. He has worked with numerous organizations including the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, City of Tucson, Fleisher Art Memorial, International Council of Adult Education, Audubon Society and Tucson Museum of Art. Michael is a recipient of the Puffin Foundation and Art Matters Fellowships. Currently he is working on his latest body of paintings, an active member of the Monsoon Collective and fulfilling commission requests.
